Settled In celebrates the grounded character of one of Britain’s most recognisable woodland animals. I created the original coloured-pencil drawing to capture the badger’s strong markings, textured fur and steady expression while keeping the composition simple and focused. The finished piece has a settled, familiar presence that works particularly well in country-inspired, woodland and wildlife-led interiors.
Settled In - Badger

Originally drawn by Jay in coloured pencil.

The story behind the Settled In - Badger

Badgers have a grounded, unmistakable presence — sturdy, watchful and full of character. With Settled In, I wanted to capture that familiar woodland confidence, building the coloured-pencil drawing layer by layer to bring out the dense fur, distinctive markings and the expression in the face.
